Meadow Hills is west of Mission Viejo along Quincy Avenue and Parker Road, built around one of Aurora's city golf courses. Work here leans toward closet and garage furnace repair in townhomes.
The first Meadow Hills plat was filed in 1957, the oldest filing in any neighborhood on this site. Most of the neighborhood came later: The Timbers in the mid 1970s, Pier Point and the Meadow Hills Country Club filings from 1974 into the 1990s, Bel-Aire Estates from 1992, and The Greens at Meadow Hills in 1995. The result is a mix of eras on a few square miles.
Meadow Hills Golf Course and Cherry Creek State Park
Meadow Hills Golf Course is one of six municipal courses run by the City of Aurora (Aurora city golf courses). Carson Park sits on the neighborhood's south side. To the west across Parker Road is Cherry Creek State Park, with its 880-acre reservoir and about 35 miles of trails (Cherry Creek State Park).
Townhomes and Gas Heat
Meadow Hills has far more townhomes than the neighborhoods east of Chambers Road. In the Census tract covering its core, about half the homes are attached single-family units and about a third are detached houses. That tract also has the highest gas heating share of any area on this site, about 82 percent (Meadow Hills tract data).
Townhome furnaces are often in a small closet, a crawlspace or the garage, with short duct runs and a flue or PVC vent that has to exit through a shared wall or the roof. Tight closets make blower and inducer repairs harder, and they starve a furnace of combustion air if the closet door has been replaced with a solid one.
