About This Part of Aurora
Aurora incorporated as the Town of Fletcher in 1903 and took the name Aurora in 1907. It grew fastest in the late 1970s and early 1980s, when it was built out as hundreds of subdivisions, and most of the neighborhoods on this page date from those years (Aurora, Colorado history). Southeast Aurora sits in Arapahoe County (Arapahoe County, Colorado).
